Safety

What Makes Us Safe, Valuable and Important?

PROMOTING ONLINE SAFETY IS OUR PRIMARY CONCERN

•Federal law prohibits children under the age of 13 to access social-networking sites like Facebook. While Facebook does make it difficult for underage children to gain access, a frightening “7.5 million active Facebook users are lying about their age -- they're younger than 13. And among those preteens, more than 5 million are under 10,” according to a recent Consumer Reports survey.

•Ready your children for their future on social networks by teaching them how to make the right, responsible decisions. Unlike other sites, children are not encouraged to access their profiles alone – Shazoot is designed as a family site where you interact with your child and those you choose to include.

•It will only be a matter of time before your young child begins asking about social-networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Why not teach them the proper way to use these sites the same way you teach them how to shake hands or cross the street? Show them by example. Make sure you take the lead.

•With Shazoot, the parent is completely in control of how their child interacts with others.

•Work together with your child to create a Shazoot profile page. With this profile page, your child can stay connected with only the family and friends you approve, no one else. You are firmly in charge.

•Children often learn the most when they don’t even realize they’re learning. That’s the beauty of Shazoot. Don’t let others teach your kids about social media. Instead, lead by example and have fun as a family.
